FAQ
(Frequently Asked Questions)
1) Minimum number of people required to do a catering job?
We do not require a min number of people to do a catered event. Instead, we have a min food order requirement of $300.00 before taxes and delivery or on site service charges.
2) Do we have a banquet facility?
Yes! The Lone Star Ranch & Catering Saloon is located on 4420 Hunt Club Road West. It is available to exclusively rent out for $600.00 for the first 4hrs and every additional hour is $50.00. The hall sits 200ppl in the winter season and we have accommodated up to 2000ppl at the ranch during warmer weather.
3)Can you bring your own food and/or beverages to the Ranch?
Due to commitments to our suppliers we cannot allow you to bring in your own food and beverages. The only
exception is wedding cakes, allergy concerns and kosher food.
4) Do we provide bar services?
We are able to provide alcohol but not at a residence. Our liq license requires Lone Star to provide a min of 10 days notification. We require a min bar sale of $300.00 before taxes. We do not provide bartenders unless we are providing the alcohol. Host and Cash bars are optional.
All of our staff are smart serve certified. A 15% gratuity applies to all host bars.
5) Does Lone Star provide service at a private home or facility?
Yes! Lone Star can do just about anything anywhere! Casual to high end black and white events.
6) How far are we willing to travel?
This is subject to the number of people, type of menu, location/distance of event and availability.
Please note that certain functions may require us to rent a vehicle at a charge to you.
7) Can we accommodate vegetarians and clients with allergies?
To the best of our ability we will try to accommodate you and your guests requests; however, we do rely on outside suppliers for some of our products and cannot guarantee that the products we use from those facilities have not come in contact with a possible allergen. Special menu requests and allergy concerns should be notified to our chef at least one week prior to your event.
8) What is the difference between delivery and service on site?
Delivery: Our delivery charge in Ottawa is $40.00. Anything outside of the Ottawa area will be charged accordingly. Please contact one of our
coordinators for pricing. Our delivery includes all food served on disposables and set up on a table of yours. We do not bring any equipment and we recommend that any hot menu items be eaten upon our arrival. Servers on site are not provided on a delivery.
Service on site: Staff can be provided to work the function you have
organized. The number of staff required to work a function depends on the number of guests attending and the meal you are serving. As well, set up and tear down fees may apply. On a service we do provide our own buffet tables, with the exception of some large groups the equipment
necessary for the buffet line and any type of cooking required on site. Depending on the type of function and set up required we generally will show up 1 1/2hr before the function, set up, service the buffet, help portion control, clean up during the after the meal, tear down and leave.
9) Do we have wedding packages?
Our catering service can customize a menu that is not in our catering connection menu package. We do not have a set wedding menu. Please note that we only provide buffet style. Since every menu and reception is unique, it is very difficult for us to try and quote you a price per person until we meet with you personally to discuss your ideas and requirements.
If your wedding reception is taking place at our location then we will handle booking all rentals required. If your wedding is taking place at another location other than ours we request that you book all rentals required and we will look after all food and beverages requirements.
10) Do we BBQ on site?
Please note that we do not BBQ fajitas on site. Items from our True Texas BBQ page are cooked on site for a min of $500. We can also provide these menu items on a delivery. BBQ season runs from May 1st - September 30th. On site cooking cannot be guaranteed beyond those dates.
11) What is required to book a catered event?
No job is confirmed unless a contract has been signed and a credit card number is provided.
